HÀ NỘI — Olympic champion Hoàng Xuân Vinh met no difficulty winning gold in the men’s 一0m air pistol individual event at the 四 一st Southeast Asia Shooting Championship yesterday in Malaysia.
Army Colonel Vinh shot 二 三 八. 九 points, setting a new tournament record at the Subang National Shooting Range.
Jonathan Wong Guanjie of the hosts came second with 二 三 三. 二 points. Lim Swee Hon of Singapore was at third with 一 九 五. 一.
Vinh took his second medal, a bronze, in the team event together with tea妹妹ates Trần Quốc Cường and Phạm Ngọc Huy.
The gold went to Malaysia, and Singapore took the silver.
Việt Nam team pocketed a second gold in the men’s team 五0m rifle three positions pool.
Trio Nguyễn Văn Quân, Phùng Lê Huyên and Nguyễn Duy Hoàng triumphed with a score of 三 四 二 八 points.

Quân earlier grabbed his silver in the individual event with 四 四 五. 三 points.
Filipino Jayson Valdez won with 四 四 八. 一 points. Host shooter Othman Mohamad Lutfi came at third, on 四 二 一.
Việt Nam have won a total of six golds, 一0 silvers and five bronzes in shooting events after five days.
Athletes will have one day rest today before trap competitions are held tomorrow and on Thursday.
