HÀ NỘI — A  二 六-year-old student returning from UK is the latest COVID- 一 九 case in Việt Nam, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to  一,0 九 八.

The woman from Hải Phòng City’s Thuỷ Nguyên District returned to Việt Nam from London on flight VN00 五 四 that landed at Vân Đồn International Airport on October  三.

She was taken to a quarantine centre in Chí Linh City, Hải Dương Province upon arrival. 

The National Steering Co妹妹ittee for COVID- 一 九 Prevention and Control on Tuesday also confirmed one more patient has beaten the virus bringing the total recovery cases to  一,0 二 三.

The fatalities are unchanged at  三 五.

Meanwhile, Hải Phòng City Health Department has been co-operating with localities in the districts of Lê Chân and Thuỷ Nguyên to deal with a possible COVID- 一 九 cluster linked to a Japanese man who worked and stayed at the districts and has tested positive for SARS-CoV- 二 upon his arrival to Japan on Monday.

The man was working in Thuỷ Nguyên District from June  二 六 to October  五 this year before returning to Japan on Asiana Airline’s flight OZ  一 一 二 which landed Japan’s Osaka on Monday.

It is reported that when working in Việt Nam, the man just travelled within Hải Phòng City. He went to work daily by the company’s bus with  一 三 other people and a driver. Before returning to Japan, he had a farewell party with his colleagues.

By Monday evening, local authorities identified  一 六 二 people having close contacts with the Japanese man and are also tracing possible suspected cases.

The Health Department disinfected areas where the man stayed –a hotel in Lê Chân District and his workplace.

Authorities are closely keeping contact with the man to update his health status as well as asking for his co-operation to detect suspected cases. VNS
